"Some say they manifested from the darkness that exists within mankind's heart, while some say they were summoned from the Other World, and other say that they have lived among us the whole time. There has been much debate about how the Demons came to be, but one fact that no one can deny is that they are here now, and they don't seem to be leaving any time soon."
It was around the year 3087 when the human race fell into devastation. It had started with the Demon's first attack on the world. Great winged creatures descended from the sky like hellfire raining death and destruction upon mankind. Those who survived called it a war, but history says that it was a massacre. The Demons culling the human race.
Then came the Plague. A disease similar to the Black Death slowly began to kill of the human race, one by one. There was no known cause of the Plague, nor any cure. Naturally, the Demons were blamed for the disease, and so mankind's disdain for them only grew.
Then came the collapse of civilisation. One by one, cities fell, countries fell into complete anarchy and mankind began to turn on each other until all but one country remained able to sustain human life; Australia.
But even the Last Country wouldn't last long as each city also fell to both the Demons and the Plague, leaving Sydney the last standing city. Though, to say that it was standing was an understatement...
As more and more people fled to Sydney, mankind separated itself according to status; The wealthy, whom could afford to live, and the poor, whose numbers decreased dramatically each day. Then there were the Mercenaries who danced the line between rich and poor. They offered their skills as hunters, protection and law enforcement for the rich, and were both feared and looked down upon by both the wealthy and the poor.
To say that Demonkind were living happily and peacefully would be a great under sight. As any civilisation did, they were going through their own power struggle between three parties.
Kayne wished for nothing more than the eradication of the human race, Ehris believed that it would be beneficial to Demonkind if they coexisted with the humans, and Rhyian simply wanted to go back to living the way they had been and leave the humans to their own lives.
War very quickly erupted between the three Demons and their followers, and Demonkind found that they would very soon be dealing with the collapse of their own civilisation...
