[attr="class","eatbod"]If there was anything that pissed Kayne off more than humans did, then it was standing right in front of him. The creature that dared to claim to be his brother. In all honesty, he couldn't blame anyone that didn't believe the two to be blood related siblings. They were different in every conceivable way. Personality, appearance, their thoughts towards humans. Humans. Just the thought of those disgusting creatures made his anger flare. And this man. His brother. Ehis. He wanted to protect them. To work alongside them to rebuild the world that they themselves destroyed. The world that didn't even belong to them in the first place. Really, what was that man thinking? It made him want to kill him even more than what he already did. Just what in the seven hells did he see in those pathetic insects?
"Kayne, save yourself your dignity and clothe yourself properly. You look like a fool." Kayne's canines ground against each other as he glared viciously at Ehris. His arms were crossed over his chest and a black piece of cloth pulled over the lower half of his face as he, no doubt, mocked him internally. "You have no authority over me, fool." Kayne snarled back. "Perhaps I should remove that other horn of yours so you resemble those creatures that you seem to love so much." His hand went to the hilt of the sword strapped to his hip, and Ehris, too, reached for his own weapons crossed against his lower back. Kayne smirked arrogantly as those rich blue eyes of his that were normally so emotionless and composed flashed with rage. "Tell me, brother," He used the title as if it were the harshest insult, "how would it feel to be murdered by your own people? Perhaps I would be the one to take your precious life. I truly hope so." Other Demons had begun to gather around the two, eagerly watching the two and most likely hoping to see a fight. This was Kayne's domain, and everyone knew that, including Ehris. While he was here, he couldn't do a damn thing to him, and he knew it.
Eihbol had been bored as he gave a yawn and strutted around the streets with nothing in particular to do, no goal in mind. He had thought of going to terrorize some humans today, but he had slept in a little later than he had initially intended. Still he wanted to make trouble to someone or something. Of course, making trouble to other demons was much more of a task than picking on those weak meat bags. So here he was trying to pick his next target for the day.
His plans were easily distracted though when he happened upon a crowd of demons gathering around. "Hm... Well that's interesting." He muttered aloud to himself as he approached the group of gathering demons. His violet eyes first caught sight of a familiar rather blue and black demon. Ehris. And if he was there that meant, and sure enough. There was Kayne. A pleased smirk crossed his lips as he crossed his arms over his chest.
It seemed that some kind of fight was about to happen. Of course Eihbol was easily routing for Kayne to simply cut the annoying human-lover down right here and now. Brother or not, there was no reason for someone who sympathized for those meat bags to hang around. "Show him no mercy!" Eihbol shouted, which garnered cheers and grunts from the other gathering demons who seemed to already be getting worked up at the potential show-down.
[attr="class","eatbod"]An arrogant smirk played across Kayne's lips as a single voice rose from the crowd, the other demons surrounding the two making sounds of agreement. "You see, Ehris? They all want you dead. Would you really betray your own kind for those pathetic insects you care for so much? I truly hope not." "You're a fool, Kayne." Ehris said, not removing his hands from the crossed blades against his lower back. "Even if you cut me down now, Rhiyan will easily defeat you." Kayne snorted. "Hmph. Rhiyan? That weak piece of trash would stand even less of a chance than what you do against me." Rhiyan? Did he really believe that demon could take him on? And Live? "You underestimate my abilities." "You're simply too arrogant to see the truth, Kayne." The raven-haired demon snarled, and as soon as his weapon was drawn, the fight was on.
It had ended as soon as it started. As Kayne, drew his weapon back to strike his good-for-nothing brother down, he felt a tap at his right horn, and a sharp prick at his neck. Ehris' twin blades were positioned, ready to remove his horn and simultaneously impale him through the neck. Though, it was far from Kayne's loss. His own blade already lightly piercing the skin of his chest. His golden eyes were swimming with fury as Ehris' emotionless blue irises stared into his. "Leave. Now." His tone was firm and final, and Ehris drew back, returning the twin blades to their sheaths. "You would do well to keep your arrogance in check, Kayne." Ehris said. "Lest it be your downfall." With that, the white-haired demon unfurled his wings and shot to the sky, disappearing into the horizon. Kayne snarled and returned his weapon to its sheath. God, he really hated him.
As the two exchanged a few more words, the crowd was getting riled up now. There was cheering, name calling of Ehris and a few people getting into heated moments of their own. Eihbol, however, remained focused on the two. It seemed a fight would be had after all. Which of course made him smirk, entirely pleased at himself for egging it on. And just like that the weapons were drawn.
The moment those blades made an appearance there was an uproar from the crowd. Eihbol was less than pleased st this thinking everyone was entirely too noisy. Still, he remained. It wasn't a terribly long fight as it came to a stand off. It seemed they could kill each other, or none at all. Of course a few of the crowd made movements as if ready to attack Ehris should the goody goody happen to try anything, but Eihbol knew better. To step in would be to question Kayne'a ability. Something Eihbol probably had just as much confidence in as the guy himself seemed to have.
As Ehris finally exited after the command of his brother, the crowd murmured a bit before starting to disperse. Still Eihbol remained, arms still crossed over his chest as his violet eyes remained locked on Kayne. "You show him too much mercy." He mentioned, obviously insinuating that the only reason they had come to a draw was because Kayne was being merciful to his brother, and not because Ehris might have actual skill that rivals his brothers. "But it probably wasn't the right time to strike him down anyway." He further mentioned, insinuating that this was probably part of some greater plan that Kayne most likely didn't actually have. Eihbol just chose to believe that he had one.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne wiped a single droplet of blood from his neck and grabbed hold of his horn, as if to check that it was still there. The crowd had started to split and go about their own business. Kayne turned at the sound of a voice. That same voice that had told him to strike down his pathetic sibling. He crossed his arms over his chest as the demon spoke, telling him that he showed Ehris too much mercy, and that it probably wasn't the right time to end his pathetic life, anyway. "Conflict with them is inevitable." He said matter-of-factly. 'Them', being Ehris and Rhiyan's followers. "I'll have my chance to end Ehris' pathetic life soon enough." Both Ehris and Rhiyan. The both of them would fall to his blade. He just had to wait for the right time to strike...
Eihbol gave a shrug of his shoulders, but nodded his head a bit as well. "I'm sure there will be an opportune moment." He mentioned running a hand through his white hair between his horns. Stretching his arms above his head, his wings stretched as well, before his violet eyes refocused on the man in front of him. "He's probably just pissy since you took that pretty little horn of his." He mentioned with another shrug before crossing his arms across his chest again. His eyes scanned over the male before him for a moment, trying to gauge just what he was feeling. Irritation still? Anger maybe?
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne's eyes were closed as he imagined all of the horrific ways that he would end his brother's and Rhiyan's life. They were both fools, too weak to face an even weaker opponent. Hell, the humans couldn't even be considered opponents with how pathetic and fragile they were. Prey. They were nothing more than prey. Though he knew that he wouldn't be able to kill them all off until Ehris and Rhiyan were out of the picture. He couldn't say much about the old man, but Ehris would be a challenge. When it came to skill in battle, they were on par with each other, and as much as it pained him to admit it, he wouldn't be able to attack his brother with his full strength as it would more than likely end in both their deaths. And if he attacked Ehris, then he could almost guarantee that Rhyian would be standing close behind. Just the thought of those two pieces of trash being allied with each other only infuriated him more, though, he didn't allow himself to show it.
Kayne smirked when the other demon mentioned Ehris' missing horn, and his ego flared. "He's always been sensitive about it." He said. "I eagerly await his reaction when I take the other."
A smirk crossed Eihbol's lips as Kayne's mood seemed to be lifted somewhat. It appeared that the mention of his brother's missing horn was enough to bring him back on the track of great things he had accomplished. As the older demon mentioned wanting to take his other horn, Eihbol snorted. "It would serve him well to be hornless..." He started with a shrug before crossing his arms over his chest, "You should take those wings of his too... Then he could really blend with those pathetic meat sacks." He couldn't help but snicker at the thought of it. Ehris as a shamed demon, looking entirely like the creatures he wanted to protect for whatever pathetic reason.
Eihbol's violet gaze came to rest on the great being before him. Well, at least he thought Kayne was great. Of course, so did many of the other people who resided in Morpeth. "So what of the plans for now?" Eihbol was rather curious to be honest. If now really wasn't the time for Kayne to attack his brother, then what would he do? Of course there was the option of hunting, but there would only be so many humans they would get through before Ehris made an appearance again.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne's smirk widened still when he said that he should remove Ehris' wings. The fool didn't deserve them, after all. Not his horns, nor his wings. He didn't deserve to call himself a demon, to be counted among their ranks. Indeed, he belonged with the insects that he was trying so desperately to befriend and ally with. Too bad for his pathetic sibling that they had already done so much damage to the human race that allying with them would prove to be a neigh impossible task. No matter what he did, he would die. Be it by Kayne's own blade or at the hands of the humans that he wanted to help oh-so-much. Kayne started to walk away, tugging on the other demon's horn as he walked past. "I like you." He was about to leave for New Castle, when the demon spoke up again, asking of his plans, and he stopped walking for a moment. "There's not much that can be done until we dispose of Ehris and Rhiyan." He said, turning slightly to look at the demon behind him. If Kayne started taking out too many humans, Ehris would no doubt interfere. And where there was Ehris, there was a chance that Rhiyan would be close behind. The two had different plans for demonkind, but they were more or less on the same side. Therefore, they had to die before he could achieve his end goal. "For now, we can only hunt them down, one by one. Weaken Ehris and Rhiyan's pathetic followers. Kill anyone that gets too close to our borders. Then again, this Plague of theirs will kill them all off soon enough."
Eihbol's violet eyes remained on Kayne as he seemed rather pleased at the thought of ripping Ehris' wings and his remaining horn. This reaction made the white haired demon rather pleased with himself. This would only become more so as Kayne approached him. His eyes were curious as to what the raven haired male could possibly be doing, but as he felt his head tilt slightly at the horn tug and the words 'I like you' fell from Kayne's lips, Eihbol's entire expression changed. Only for a fleeting moment but still.
If Eihbol was capable of blushing, he probably would be. Or maybe he was and he just refused to believe it. Either way, internally he was so happy he could burst. He had seemed to please Kayne enough to garner some kind of recognition from the raven haired male that he so idolized. He wasn't really sure he would be able to contain himself but thankfully Kayne moved the conversation along. Though Eihbol had to huff at Kayne's words at first.
It wasn't like Eihbol thought he was capable of taking on neither Ehris nor Rhiyan on his own, but he was positive Kayne could. Whether that was a delusion or not, he firmly believed it. Of course that didn't matter, what Kayne said was probably for the best. "Ah right... the plague that they blame us for." Eihbol had to roll his eyes as he said that. As if demons would stoop to doing something as lame as giving them an illness. No ripping them apart was much more fun. "Such weak, pathetic creatures.... it's disgusting." Eihbol spat about the humans they so loved to hunt. "Well, Ehris was so kind to grace your land with his disgusting presence... We should hunt on his." After all, it was only fair wasn't it. "Is Rhiyan really that big a deal? Doesn't he kind of just.... exist?" He asked suddenly rather curiously. Sure Rhiyan didn't agree with Kayne, but it wasn't like he actually liked the humans either.
Just the thought of that Plague that the humans blamed on them made him sigh. Really, this was exactly why the world was falling apart in the first place. Anything that couldn't be explained was blamed on the enemy and they would declare war on each other in the name of religion or justice. That's why they needed to be wiped out. They were nothing but a disease upon the face of the Earth that rightfully belonged to demonkind. When Eihbol asked if Rhiyan was really a threat, Kayne crossed his arms over his bare chest and stared almost aimlessly into the distance. "It's true that Rhiyan wants nothing to do with the humans, and that he and Ehris have very different end goals in mind, they're still more or less allies." He sighed and looked back to the white-haired demon before him. "Wherever that good-for-nothing is, then the old man and his followers are likely to be close behind him. Ehris may be a pain in the ass to deal with, but..." Kayne's smirk widened. Ehris may prove to be a difficult opponent, especially with the old man behind him, but Kayne had over half of the demon race on his side. If and when it came to an all out war between the three of them, Kayne's victory was basically guaranteed. "Not to mention, with the path that fool is walking, he'll get himself killed before he makes it any closer to his goal."
Eihbol had never really thought of Rhiyan as a threat. Well, honestly, he had never really thought of Rhiyan in general. That demon was just as good for nothing as Ehris, maybe even more... But at least he didn't sympathize and want to live with those pathetic meat bags. Still, Kayne seemed to think that Rhiyan could be a potential threat which just made the white haired demon snort a bit. He was certain Kayne could take anything that came his way, even if Rhiyan was older and bigger.
His violet eyes looked up toward Kayne as he spoke about Ehris being a pain in the ass, though he would ultimately bring his own downfall. Eihbol had to agree honestly. Giving a shrug before crossing his arms over his chest, he nodded in agreement. "I think it would be much more satisfying if you were the one to off him... But you are right. He'll probably get himself done in with his pathetic ways." Eihbol spat out with a shake of his head. "In any case, he greatly underestimates your power. That is also a weakness of his but an advantage of yours." Of course Eihbol would be trying to find a way to work in stroking Kayne's ego into the conversation. In all honesty he was still screaming internally from his little fanboy moment of Kayne touching him not but moments ago. He needed to get a damn grip of himself here.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne inhaled thoughtfully as Eihbol said that it would be much more satisfying for him to kill off his own brother himself rather than let the humans do it for him, and he wholeheartedly agreed. He would much rather cut the fool down himself, but if the humans beat him to it, then there wouldn't be much he could do after he was dead. After all, demons were in no way sorcerers, despite what foolish stories the humans came up with. He wouldn't be able to bring Ehris back from the dead just to kill him again. Though, if he could, he would, many times over, until his life expired. "Indeed he does." Kayne said. "Despite what Ehris thinks, I'm not the fool he takes me for. For making such an oversight...he'll die by my hand." This demon...he liked his mindset. Definitely a rarity these days. And he had no doubt that he could be a powerful ally...
Again Kayne seemed pleased with him which made Eihbol internally, extremely happy. He kept a poker face though, as his violet gaze reamined on Kayne. "I'm sure your brother's foolish thoughts will only make it all the easier for you." He mentioned with a nod as if that were an actual fact. Though in reality, it would be a fact. Ehris didn't give his brother nearly enough credit for what he was actually capable of. Then again maybe it was a pride thing. That stinging reminder that he only had one horn now.
Eihbol placed his hands on his hips as he looked toward Kayne. "I'd love to see the look on his face when you bring him down a peg before finishing him." He scoffed a bit just at that thought, "The smug bastard showing his face here and disresepecting you...." Honestly, tearing him apart limb from limb was still too kind of a punishment for the other white haired demon. Suddenly a thoughtful expression crossed his face as he tilted his head a bit, "I wonder if he has a weakness that could be exploited..." Probably not. Maybe he'd attempt to go do some spying for Kayne.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne noses firmly at Eihbol's words. "Hm. They will, yes. He's far too foolish to see when he's on a losing side." And one hell of a losing side Ehris was on. Really, why did he insist on fighting him still? It would be much easier for both sides if he just gave up and accepted defeat. Demon pride sure was a pain in the ass sometimes... His massive wings fluttered at his back a little when the other demon asked if Ehris had any weaknesses that they could use against him, and Kayne hummed thoughtfully. Weaknesses? None that he really knew of. Maybe... "Hm...while he does want to protect the humans, he's not exactly willing to risk his pathetic life for them... Though he has been known to make an appearance in Kanangra from time to time, according to Erin. Maybe...Rhiyan...?"
