Keep still, keep quiet they still know you haven't left yet
It wasn't like Crow hated leaving Sydney. In fact, he actually quite enjoyed it. A good change of scenery from Sydney and its borders that he was surrounded by almost all of the time. What he hated was seeing the amount of stress that it put on Shiro, both physically and mentally. The girl wasn't one to leave her home often in the first place - he assumed that events from her past made sure that she stayed inside - , but the fact that she didn't get out much almost meant that she was a lot weaker than the average human. Stopping to rest for extended periods of time wasn't really an option considering they were moving between borders and the chance of being attacked by a demon was higher if they stopped moving for any amount of time. He knew that, and Shiro knew that, and Lucius was most certainly aware of that fact. The most that he could do was watch her and make sure that she didn't collapse. Not that her father wasn't already attentive of his daughter. Lucius was frequently asking if she was okay, and if they needed to stop and rest, which Shiro was constantly declining the offer, telling him that she was fine. "Kangaroo Valley shouldn't be any more than another half hour away, Lucius." Crow said, in which Lucius nodded in acknowledgement. "Good. You can find some place to rest when we get there while I deal with business." Neither Crow nor Shiro knew what kind of 'business' Lucius was referring to, but at the same time, neither of them asked, simply accepting it, and being grateful to be able to leave Sydney for a few days.
When the three made it into the town, they could instantly feel the heavy atmosphere. Kangaroo Valley had a reputation for being both one of the safest places for humans to live, but one of the worst living conditions. At least, it was like that for the poorer residents of the Valley. Crow could hear Lucius' discontent sigh from the front of the group. "Really, they're more like dictators than anything else here." He sighed again and crossed his arms. "In any case, I'll go and get this over with. Please keep out of trouble, Shiro." Behind him, Shiro crossed her arms. She looked defiant, but the fatigue was evident. "No promises." Lucius rolled his eyes at his daughter's response before placing a hand on Crow's shoulder. "Keep her safe for me." Crow nodded. "Always."
"Ugh... I don't want to study anymore!" "Don't be so stubborn. You need to study this until you learn it." "Pfft... Too boring. Let's do something fun!" "You and I have very different ideas of fun, and because of that... I doubt I'd agree with anything you want to--- Jasper!" But it was too late. The boy was already running off, having found his opportunity when Avery was taking the time to lecture him. Avery just growled in annoyance as he got up from where he had been sitting and made his way after the boy. He saw no reason to rush since Jasper never really made it very far. Something would peak his curiosity and like and idiot he would approach it. Avery had to often wonder if he was brave or merely just stupid. Probably some sort of combination of both.
Sure enough to mercenary followed the young male into town where he was already looking at things and asking random people questions. Avery would stop him, but there really was no point. Jasper often did what he wanted no matter what. The only reason the kid hadn't been eaten already was because Avery was there doing his job. How easy it would be to let the little shit get eaten though.
Jasper - who already knew Avery would follow - waved toward the raven haired male. "Hey Hawk! This way!" He started as he was walking backward. "Jasper pay attention to--" Again. Too late. Jasper backed all the way up into a girl who had been standing there with another gentleman. An audible oof came from Japser as he staggard a bit but regained himself. "Hey, why don't you watch where you're standing?" He questioned, obviously his rich child superiority causing him to think he wasn't exactly wrong in this situation.
It didn't take much longer for Avery to catch up and whack Jasper on the back of the head. "The correct response is: excuse me." It was obvious by his expression that he was annoyed, though it soon went back to being stoic as he glanced over the people Jasper had decided to run over.

"How long do you think Dad's gonna be?" Crow blinked and looked down towards Shiro. She was still panting a little from the trip down here. "I'm not sure. But I doubt we'll be going back to Sydney immediately. It's too far." It looked like Shiro was about to speak, but was cut off when someone walked right into her, and the girl stumbled forward a few steps in her fatigue. Crow reacted quickly, grabbing hold of her arm and pulling her back upright. "Are you okay, Shiro?" The girl didn't answer, turning to glare at the boy whom had just backed into her. Her glare only strengthened when he told her to watch where she was standing, though she regained her composure and sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Jeez, Dad was right. They're all assholes." Crow sighed and shook his head. He supposed it was better than her straight up attacking the kid, but still. "Shiro, don't." The white-haired girl just huffed and looked the other way. As the blond apologised to the two standing before them. "Please forgive her, she's not exactly in the best of moods presently."
Avery waved a hand in front of his face and shook his head. "No reason to apologize. This idiot was the one who walked into her." Of course this garnered a scoff from Jasper who now crossed his arms over his chest. "She was the one standing in the way of where I was walking." Avery just sighed and shot Japser a look to which he just turned his nose upward and looked away. Seriously, how easy would it be to just let the demons come take this little shit. No, no. He couldn't think that way. He wasn't entirely to blame. His parents were assholes too.
Looking over the blonde male and the white haired female, Avery's crimson eyes came back to focus on Crow. "Is she alright? She doesn't look very well." He mentioned, placing a hand on his hip and gesturing toward Shiro with the other hand. "Did you just arrive here?" Jasper groaned at all the questions Avery was asking, "Ugh, does it matter?" Again another look was shot toward Jasper as he shook his head.

@avery
While her eyes were closed and her arms crossed firmly over her chest, Shiro's annoyance was terribly obvious, and Crow was worried that the girl was going to lash out this boy. Though it was no hard task for him to stop her, he didn't really want to have to and then sit through Lucius lecturing his daughter. Again. When the younger male spoke, Shiro visibly tended in rage. "Crow, can I borrow your sword for a sec?" The blonde male didn't even bother to look at Shiro when he answered with a very blunt "No.", and his charge huffed but didn't pester him any further about it. The other man asked if Shiro was alright, and Crow looked down toward the girl again. "Shiro is-" "I'm alive." She said, cutting the blonde mercenary off. "That's all that matters." Crow sighed and shook his head. "Yes. We came from Sydney. She's just fatigued, is all. Shiro doesn't get out often so a trip like this is taxing, especially for her." "It's not like it's my fault that I don't get out often." Shiro muttered. "You won't let me out." "Under your father's orders." Shiro snorted. "You do your job too damn well..."

Jasper made a loud, exasperated sighing noise. The same as someone whinning about being somewhere they don't want to be. This only garnered another whack to the back o fhis head from Avery. A tsk followed as Jasper rubbed the back of his head, "I should tell my parents about how often you hit me." Avery rolled his eyes and shook his head, "That's what they pay me for." He noted to a huffing boy.
Avery returned his attention toward the two in front of him and looked between them before focusing on Crow. "Well if you need a place to rest--" Jasper immediately threw himself onto Avery, covering the older male's mouth. "NO!" Avery easily shrugged the male off, after all he was much stronger and bigger in size as he shook his head. "You are welcome to join us. We were about to grab some food."
