Heat blazed down on Erik's neck as his eyes peered down the rail of his crossbow. The sun was at it's highest and finally a miracle had crossed by him. A wild dog it was a good size, more than enough to feed a full grown man for a few days at least. It Lapped up water from a puddle completely oblivious to the man with a bow staring down it's exposed side. Erik's eyes narrowed. A miss would not only scare the animal away, but it would also doom him to another catch-less day. With a sharp intake of breath he fired.
The canine let out a small yelp as the bolt penetrated it's neck before falling to the ground. Without hesitation Erik dashed forward to claim his prize. Before anything else, he yanked his bolt from the dog's neck, and wiped the blood on his pants. The leaves around him rustled as he starred down at the body. There were plenty of empty houses in Bundanoon he could commandeer for the rest of the day. There he could also store the kill for it's journey back to Sydney. "Sorry friend" He mused before grasping the dog by the back of the neck and tossing it over his shoulder.
[attr="class","eatbod"]"I expect to see a show from you, you got it, Boy?" Kayne's hold on the human boy instinctively tightened as if he were afraid that he would drop the kid of he was careless. While it would be a shame if Erin did end up a pile of flesh and crushed bones on the ground below, the demon would hardly feel any remorse. The kid was nothing more than disposable entertainment in his eyes. As brutal as it sounded, that's how it was, and he'd told him plenty of times before. Not that he got any sort of reaction out of him. Nothing did these days, really. To be honest, it was getting kind of boring. Sometimes, he really did miss the days where we would have to constantly wrangle a disobedient little shit. Kayne dipped his wingtips a little, making a sharp right turn, and he felt Erin's arms tighten around his neck, to which the demon laughed at. "Oh, c'mon. Don't tell me that still gets ya?" He smirked and playfully nipped at the boy's ear before angling his wings downward to make their decent. Kayne gracefully touched down and released his grip on Erin, who slid his hands from around his neck in response, and worked on steadying his balance on solid ground.
The raven-haired demon released the chain around Erin's right wrist that bound him to his master and tossed him a sheathed sword, which the boy caught and hung it by his waist before looking to the demon before him for his next orders. "Off you go then. Run free. Bring me back a head or two if you want." Erin turned to leave, when a sound caught both their attention, and Kayne gestured for the boy to follow, to which he complied. The rounded a corner, just catching the sight of a human beginning to haul off his catch for the day, and Kayne grinned sadistically. "On second thought... Why don't we have a bit of fun here..?" Erik adjusted his grip on the dog again. Blood oozed out of the dog's neck causing it's pelt to slick and slide down his back. 'This isn't going to work.' With a quick look around he noticed an old lawn chair sitting in front of a building, whose paint had faded and cracked after years of not being touched up. Erik nonchalantly moved towards the chair without any idea of the demon and human who had taken notice of him.
The large bag was removed from his back and tossed to the left side of the chair. He loaded the crossbow - in case of the slim chance that another animal was nearby - and than gently placed it to the right of the chair. The dog was thrown at the foot at the chair, and with great caution not to step on the lifeless shell Erik sat down. His fingers wrapped around the same wooden handle his fingers had gasped a million times and freed the steel bowie knife from it sheath. The dog would be easier to transport if it was skinned and cut now.
He removed the eyes first popping them in his mouth as soon as they were free. Next came the tongue, which was wrapped in an old handkerchief and slid into the pocket of his leather vest. After they were removed Erik started to skin the animal in silence, taking no notice to the rest of the world.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne blink in mild astonishment as the human went about his business, seeming to not notice bot he and Erin standing a few metres from him. Was he really this incompetent? Honestly, this was why the humans were dying out. If he didn't have a thirst for blood, Kayne would have probably taken Rhiyan's state of mind and just left them be so they could die out on their own. But alas, Kayne wanted to wipe out the human race with his own hands, and he would get what he wanted. Even if that meant racing against this stupid Plague of theirs that they seemed to blame on the demons. Honestly... "This one doesn't seem to bright, eh, Erin?" He said, loud enough to - hopefully - get the attention of the human. And if he still remained oblivious, well... it wasn't as if Kayne was opposed to having this guy just roll over and die for him. Erin could probably easily take him out, also. But it was much more fun seeing the boy take on much stronger opponents. Or one's that actually payed attention to their surroundings. Especially in such an unguarded town as this. Just what was this insect thinking, ignoring the world like that? Pathetic... "Perhaps you should teach him a lesson in attentiveness." When the blonde human silently readied his blade, Kayne grinned sadistically. Honestly, this one brought this on himself.

The minute Erik heard Kayne speak he instinctively moved. His knife still stuck in the dog carcass which had since dropped from his lap to the ground, Erik rolled out of the chair clasping his bow tight in his hands before swinging it towards the voice. Erik squinted his eyes down the rail not daring to take his eyes of the demon's face. Though he saw the younger human out of the corner of his vision, he assumed that he'd be easier to overpower in a one on one compared to a full grown demon. The mere thought of trying to run hadn't even crossed his mind, no he'd stay to either die or somehow fight his way to safety.
"You seem like nice people, and I have no interest in killing either of you... Drop the sword and walk away and I'll let you two go on your merry way." Erik demanded, not a trace of fear echoing through his words or body. "I'm a nice guy like that."
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne couldn't help but laugh at the human's words about them seeming like nice people. "Nice people?" He snickered. "Erin, this human must really be stupid." He crossed his arms over his chest, a mockingy sadistic grin warping his features as he watched the human in amusement. He had met some pretty strange humans during his lifetime. A few that had shared Ehris' views during the early days of humankind's downfall. But this one. This one had to be the best. Nice people? Just what the hell had this human been inhaling? It must have been something pretty damn strong to get him thinking like that. "Oh? Was that a threat, human?" His expression changed to one of pure arrogance as he looked the man up and down, as if he were assessing his capabilities. Admittedly, that weapon of his might be a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with. It wasn't as if Erin hadn't taken an arrow to the shoulder before, but if he took any more than two hits, then he would be down for sure. Damn humans in their physical limitations. Kayne internally sighed. He supposed that he would have to get involved this once. Ah, well. It had been awhile since he had cut down a human. "You got guts, human, I'll give you that. But you're pretty damn stupid if you think I'll just walk away and do as you say. I'm not Ehris. I don't care for the preservation of your kind." He then glanced towards the blonde human beside him. "Erin. Kill him." The human boy didn't speak, only shifting to a more defensive stance, ready to attack instantly.

"Oh, I have no intention of walking away unharmed, alive even." Erik assured the demon. "Just know this. I'll be damned if die before at least one of you two have a memorable ass scar." He now faced a difficult problem, the human boy. Erik had no interest in killing the human, the more humans that killed each other the sooner the likes of Kayne win. But, he was facing someone with a sword. Someone who held it like he knew how to use it. Besides that, Erik had one shot before he would be stuck in a melee fight, there was simply no way he'd have the opportunity to reload and fire again. Erik eyes flicked from cross-hairs, to dog carcass. The body was at least five feet away.
With a frown, he quickly swung his bow from Kayne's face, down towards Erin's shin, and fired. "Sorry Kid!" He yelled as his body took over, dashing towards the lifeless body that held his knife.
[attr="class","eatbod"]Kayne was entirely amused at this human's words. He seemed pretty sure that he would do some considerable damage to either himself or Erin. Something that he seriously doubted would come to fruit. "You talk some big game for such a weak and pathetic creature. I'd like to see you speak such words when there's a sword to your neck, human." He honestly hadn't expected the human to draw his weapon's line of fire away from himself and towards Erin, though at the same time he really should have seen it coming. After all, Erin was the one with a weapon drawn while Kayne was only standing idly by, almost as if he were only here to enjoy the show. Instantly after the attack was redirected, the human fired, to which Erin responded to almost immediately, dashing forward, the bolt narrowly missing going straight through his leg and instead slicing through his flesh before implanting itself into the rotting floorboards. A quiet grunt of pain could be heard from the human boy, and he stumbled a few steps before regaining his balance and going after the target, drawing his blade back to strike. Kayne only clicked his tongue in annoyance tearing the bolt from the floor and walking towards the two humans. "Nothing but a pain in the ass..."
