Lucius let out a relieved sigh and wiped away the sweat that had gathered on his forehead. December was far too hot to leave the comfort of his own home, let alone spend a whole day and a half travelling from Sydney to Kangaroo Valley. He was honestly glad that his daughter had patently refused to rise from her bed, despite Rhys' pestering for her to do so. He probably wouldn't have even let her come with him this time. Not after what happened back in Berrima those few weeks ago. He still shuddered at the thought of Shiro slumped limply against a tree. Crow wasn't exactly in the best shape after his and Shiro's little encounter. Speaking of Crow...[break]
Lucius looked behind himself to glance at the blonde mercenary before turning fully to face him. The guy barely looked like he had broken a sweat.[break]
"You never cease to amaze me, Crow." He said, gathering the man's attention. "How do you manage these trips? I'm close to passing out in this heat." [break]
Crow shrugged and shifted is stance some. "Those hunting trips you send me on probably have something to do with it."[break]
Right. Lucius often forgot that the hunts that he sent his men on were usually pretty relentless. It wasn't really any wonder why Crow was so in shape. "Well, in any case, I'd like to get this over with so we can go back to Sydney." [break]
"You're worried about Shiro?" [break]
As usual, Crow was right onto what Lucius was thinking. "How could I not be after what happened in Berrima? You never know when those bastards will attack. Even a place so well-guarded like Sydney."
